This is the next stop on my Carousel Series. Trieste.
If you choose this horse on the carousel he will take you to a time when this part of Italy was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A very powerful court in Europe at the time. Now, this part of Italy is part of my children’s heritage as it’s where my Husband’s family is from. I chose a more dressage looking horse with red and white feathers to reference the colours of Trieste. I chose to give this horse illustration a little more watercolour over gouache to give it a softness, and a bit more fine detail. I want you to connect with the gentle yet not easily distracted working animal.
