Description
Looking for a different take on sea shell art? These slices or skeletons make the perfect sea shell artwork. This is the first study I did of the interior of a shell and I just like the simplicity of it. I have a shell like this in it’s full form so it was fascinating to see inside. All those tear shaped chambers.
I have enlarged the sea shell’s skeleton to focus on their wonderful interior curved lines, colours and textures. I love how these show off the magical interior workings of the shells. The ocean and horizon is dramatically distant creating the illusion that the shells are giants on the beach. The chambers within the shell now create windows to beach and waves beyond. The magic of nature revealed.
This series of drawings, ‘See Shells’ is both a play on words and perspectives. These soft sandy tones make the perfect edition to any beach shack.
This artwork is the 4th in the series of 6 drawings. Each is framed in Australian timber.
