‘Dawn on the Billabong’ is part of a new series of work for 2017 called “Billabong”. After a wonderfully relaxing stay at Billabong Retreat west of Sydney I decided to create a series of abstract watercolour art based on the feelings I had (very Zen) together with the lush bush landscape.
As the name suggests, these artworks centre around a peaceful Billabong that is used as a quiet spot for reflection and meditation. I hope these works give you a sense of calm and inner peace. During my stay I got up and greeted the sun, went for walks and breathed in deeply. The surroundings inspired so much creativity. This abstract watercolour art depicts the soft morning light over the billabong. Using those soft warm colours, with very little detail. It is a work that will aid in your own visual meditation. I hope this artwork brings you a sense of quiet reflection, ready to greet the day or perhaps to be an artwork to be a soothing greeting after busy day. Perfect for any space in your home.
